      In ASEAN community, food safety is also an important topic for economic and socio-cultural sectors leading to have many sectoral working groups involved in food safety activities. This includes the Health Cluster 4 Ensuring Food Safety, one of health clusters based on new governance and implementation mechanisms of ASEAN Post-2015 Health Development Agenda (2016 to 2020) under the ASEAN Senior Official level on Health Development for the ASEAN Health Ministers’ mission working to promote a healthy and caring ASEAN Community, where the people achieves maximal health potential through healthy lifestyle, have universal access to quality health care and financial risk protection; have safe food and healthy diet, live in a healthy environment with sustainable inclusive development where health is incorporated in all policies. To meet this mission, the Health Cluster 4 Ensuring Food Safety is responsible to promote access to safe food, safe drinking water and sanitation in ASEAN by operating 5 year-work programme.
